This policy explains which cookies and comparable technologies (localStorage, IndexedDB) BreedBase uses on the website and in the app. The legal basis for storing and reading information on your device is Section 25 of the German TDDDG: Section 25(2) TDDDG for technically necessary storage, and otherwise your consent (Section 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Modern applications additionally use browser storage (localStorage, IndexedDB), to which the same rules apply.

These are required to operate the platform and do not need consent (Section 25(2) TDDDG):

Services Requiring Consent
The following are only loaded after you agree in the consent banner:
- Rybbit Analytics — cookieless analytics software that we host ourselves on our own EU servers. It sets no cookies and transfers no data to third parties. Analytics data is retained for 13 months.
- Map services (CARTO/OpenStreetMap) — loading map tiles transmits your IP address to CARTO's CDN. CARTO does not set cookies through our integration.

No Third-Party Cookies
We do not use advertising, tracking, or any other third-party cookies.
Managing Cookies and Consent
- In the app / on the platform: Under Settings → Privacy you can change or withdraw your consent at any time. Declining has no effect on core functionality.
- In your browser: You can delete or block cookies and site data in your browser settings. Deleting strictly necessary storage may require you to log in again or redo your settings.
Changes to This Policy
We update this policy whenever the technologies we use change. For material changes, we will ask for your consent again.
